At approximately 8:42 p.m. on May 21, 2024, Durham Police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a convenience store in the 1200 block of Fayetteville Street. The suspect was reported to have pulled a black handgun on two store clerks and demanded money. The victims complied and the suspect fled the scene. Durham Police Investigate Fatal Stabbing

 The Durham Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred on Queen Street on Thursday morning.

At approximately 7:14 a.m. on November 30, 2023, officers responded to a report of a stabbing near the intersection of Liberty Street and Queen Street. When officers arrived, they found an adult male victim who had been stabbed. EMS responded and he was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Based on preliminary investigation, this appears to be an isolated incident. This is an active investigation and no further information can be released at this time.

UPDATE: The victim in this stabbing has been identified as Alexander Bernard Jordan, 41.

At approximately 3 a.m. on November 5, 2023, officers responded to an armed robbery that occurred at the victims’ residence in the 2500 block of Vesson Street. An adult male and an adult female were just returning home from work when an adult male suspect emerged from the tree line and pointed a handgun at them. The suspect took the female victim’s purse before running through their backyard toward Chapel Hill Road. The suspect is described as a light skinned Black male who is approximately 30-years-old.
